What is the Naomi Chazan Fellowship and who is it for? – New Israel Fund Australia

What is the Naomi Chazan Fellowship and who is it for?

Are you interested in better understanding the complexity of what is happening in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories?

Are you looking for a way to connect with others who share your values?

Do you want to be part of the conversation around Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories in the Australian Jewish community?

The Naomi Chazan Fellowship is a unique opportunity for emerging leaders in Australia’s Jewish community to channel their passion for social justice and human rights into concrete action. This year-long program will give you the opportunity to be part of an expanding network of the next generation of progressive leaders around the world, through workshops, retreats and an intensive week-long trip to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

If you care about how progressive values can and should shape a new reality in Australia and Israel, if you want to learn tangible skills for social change and activism, if you’re keen to meet and connect with like-minded peers in Australia, across the Jewish diaspora and in Israel-Palestine, then the Fellowship is for you.

Together with peers from Canada, the UK and the US, you’ll meet Israeli and Palestinian activists and changemakers making a difference on the ground across a variety of issues: religious freedom, the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum, ending the occupation of the Palestinian territories, fighting gender inequality, building shared society and coexistence, and combating racism and discrimination. You’ll have unprecedented access to a range of activists, journalists, politicians, and grassroots organisers leading Israel towards a better, more just future.

You’ll come back to Australia with a unique perspective about what’s happening in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. You'll then use this perspective to deliver a project and lead meaningful community conversations about the role of Israeli civil society.

Be part of a community which amplifies and champions progressive voices in the Australian Jewish community.
