Rabbis for Human Rights (RHR) is an Israeli NGO founded by Rabbis in 1988 that works to reassert, strengthen, and perform the inseparable relationship between Jewish religious practice and human rights values in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt). The organisation today maintains a network of around 160 Rabbi members and has four main areas of focus: Human Rights in the oPt, Poverty and Socioeconomic Inequality in Israeli Society, Human Rights Education, and Inter-religious Dialogue

The New Israel Fund is proud to support RHR's “Planting Justice” initiative, an annual program that sees RHR plant olive trees with Palestinians in Areas B and C of the oPt around the time of Tu B’Shvat. This action directly addresses the destruction of Palestinian property by Israelis. At the same time, RHR and volunteers serve as a protective presence for Palestinian farmers as they carry out their essential agricultural tasks, which carries a deterrent effect towards potential violence by settlers and Israeli security forces.

With your support, RHR are able to provide protective presence through on-the-ground activists equipped with first-aid skills, who help support the Palestinian farmers impacted by settler violence.
