With record breaking heat waves in Jerusalem and Australia still recovering from a bushfire crisis that impacted 75% of the population, it’s clear that climate change has not stopped for coronavirus.
So what are our governments doing about it? In Australia the Morrison government is championing a $52.9m ‘gas-led recovery’ from economic shock caused by coronavirus. In Israel little money has been budgeted to prepare the country for the environmental and security threats caused by climate change.
We are partnering with EcoPeace to bring together student climate activists from Australia, Israel, Palestine and Jordan who will share their insights and experiences of fighting climate change and working across diversity.
What can everyday citizens be doing to fight climate change? How can young people get their voices heard? What are the similarities and differences between these countries?
We’ll unpack these questions and more.
This event is exclusively for our New Gen supporters, in their 20s and 30s.
